This is the asymmetry of our time. The machines around us grow more capable every year. The human inside them does not. Power is scaling; coherence is not. And as these systems learn to shape attention, desire, and choice — quietly, at scale, before judgment can begin — the question is no longer how much they can do for us. It is whether we remain the authors of our own lives while they do.
